General information

What is the NatFak Winter Ball?

The NatFak Winter Ball is a student-organised dance ball in the CAMPO Mensa in Poppelsdorf.
In addition to the actual dance ball, we offer a free beginners' dance course and an after-ball party.
In addition to drinks, the Studierendenwerk also offers food.

Who can come?

Everyone! You don't have to be a student at the University of Bonn (or a student at all).
If you fancy a dance ball, then get your tickets and come along!
We look forward to seeing you!

Is the Winter Ball free of charge?

Our aim is to make all our events accessible free of charge.
Unfortunately, due to the high costs for technology, security, paramedics and, above all, GEMA, we are unable to do this at the Winter Ball.

However, we think that the admission price is still very favourable compared to similar offers.
You are offered continuous live dance music for little money.

Nevertheless, we know that even our low admission price can be a high burden.
For all students of the University of Bonn who would like to attend our ball but are reluctant to do so due to the costs, we therefore offer a solidarity ticket. Please contact us. We will find a way for everyone to attend the NatFak Winter Ball unbureaucratically and without a means test.

Can non-students also take part?

Yes, absolutely!
The Winter Ball is open to all people who fancy a dance ball. Whether you're a student, from Bonn or not.
Ask your friends, parents, grandma and grandpa!
We look forward to every visitor!

No. There is no box office at the NatFak Winter Ball.

In principle, this is possible. Please note, however, that it is forbidden to resell tickets for profit.
We reserve the right to block individual tickets in case of suspicion.

Is there a dress code?

Yes and no. We would be very happy if you dressed up. But if you don't have an evening dress or suit, then of course you are welcome to join us in whatever outfit you feel comfortable in. However, we would like to point out that there are of course certain limits. If you turn up in a swimming costume or with your entire football team in a training outfit, we will refuse you entry.

Is there a cloakroom?

Yes, for a small surcharge of €2.00 we will be happy to take care of your belongings!

Please note that we only accept cash payments in exceptional cases.
You can pay with all major EC, debit and credit cards as well as Google & Apple Pay.

Which payment methods are accepted at the NatFak Winter Ball?

It's complicated!

The best way to pay for the cloakroom is cashless.
We only accept cash payments for drinks.

A Sparkasse cash machine is available directly at the canteen.

Dance course

What kind of dance courses are on offer?

We offer two different dance courses:

The beginner's dance course on ball day teaches you the basic steps of some dances in one hour. This dance course is free of charge and is already included in your admission ticket.

In the extended dance course, which takes place weekly in the month before the ball, you will learn several dances and also more advanced steps. This dance course is not free of charge, but must be explicitly booked when you make your booking. Please note that places for this dance course are limited.

Which dances will be covered on the free dance course on ball day?

The dance course will cover the basic steps of the Slow Waltz, Cha cha cha, Rumba and Jive dances, and we may also cover the Discofox. Please note that this list is not a firm commitment but serves more as a guide.

How much does the dance course cost?

The beginner's dance course on the day of the ball is included in your admission ticket and is therefore free of charge.
We charge a small fee for the extended dance course.
